The Underwater Waterfall — Mauritius' Most Spectacular Optical Illusion
Off the southwestern tip of Mauritius, near Le Morne Brabant, a trick of ocean currents and shifting seabed makes sand and silt appear to cascade off the edge of the continental shelf — a vast underwater waterfall of swirling colour. Seeing it from a helicopter, in person, is a different experience entirely from the photographs.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Mauritius — Settle In & Unwind
Our representative meets you at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport and transfers you to your resort for an unscheduled first afternoon on the beach or by the pool.

Day 2
North Island Tour — Port Louis & the Botanical Garden
A full-day North Mauritius tour — the giant Victoria Amazonica water lilies at Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, a historic sugar estate museum, the multicultural streets of Port Louis, and the Caudan Waterfront.

Day 3
South Island Tour — Volcanoes, Sacred Sites & Coloured Earth
A full-day South Mauritius tour — the Trou aux Cerfs volcanic crater at Curepipe, the sacred pilgrimage lake of Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), and the undulating dunes of Chamarel's Seven Coloured Earth.

Day 4
Le Morne Helicopter Experience — The Island from Above
The signature day — a scenic helicopter flight over Mauritius taking in the basalt interior, the turquoise lagoon and, past Le Morne Brabant, the famous underwater waterfall illusion, with a free afternoon near Le Morne Beach afterwards.

Full Leisure Day — The Beach, the Pool & Whatever You Fancy

Day 6
Departure — Farewell to Mauritius
A final breakfast at the resort, then check out and private transfer to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport for departure.
